Mohawk
Giles’ Raining Skye Kingfisher aka Mohawk is our 2023 stallion prospect.
We believe in raising our stallions with intention and this colt was born with it. Mohawk is named after his half brother, Modoc who now lives in Washington. Not only is Mohawk related to Modoc through the same sire Skye, he is also related to our beloved Misty through his dam, Rain.
Rain stamps every one of her foals with bone, size and her signature head. When I found out Rain was in foal to Skye, I knew I would have to have this foal. Rain is my ideal walking horse and we hopefully will continue her legacy through Mohawk.
Our main goal for Mohawk is to use him as a riding stallion. His traditional size & shape is perfect for the types of riding we enjoy.
He is quiet, has lots of bone & a natural gait. His thoughtful nature makes him an ideal prospect as a riding stallion.
I thoroughly enjoyed raising Modoc and Misty is as close to perfect as you can get. Mohawk has both characteristics from his siblings and I know he will be a fantastic ambassador of our breed. He also is homozygous for extension—he will never sire a red based foal.

Mohawk’s Sire:
{Skye’s Saphyre Starlyte}
Mohawk’s sire is one of the prettiest horses I have ever seen. I saw him at W.O.W & knew I wanted a foal by him. Mohawk gets height from his 16.2h sire & his stunning carriage. As a beautiful, well gaited sire, Skye complimented Rain and produced one heck of a colt. Mohawk loves water like his sire.
Picture was taken by Debbie Jeppesen at Walkers On Water. Skye now lives in Joplin, Missouri. -
Mohawk’s Dam:
{Copied In The Rain}
Rain is the mare that started it all.
I was infatuated with Misty’s ability to create carbon copies of herself. I then saw her dam (Rain) and realized where she got it.
All of Rain’s foals (we own 2: Misty and Mohawk) are tall (16h+), big boned, well gaited and confident. Rain is getting older and I am beyond thankful we have two of her foals to continue her legacy. She is the ideal walking horse in my opinion.
I love this mare and love the foals she produces.
